Today\, she leads Oklahoma's\n\nlargest school district\, serving more than 33\,000 students with a vision for equitable\,\n\ndata-informed systems that improve outcomes for every learner.\n\nBefore becoming Superintendent\, Dr. Polk served as OKCPS's Assistant Superintendent for\n\nPre-K through 4th Grade\, where she designed and implemented data-driven strategies that\n\nsignificantly improved student performance. Her efforts helped the district move the needle on\n\nits A-F State Report Card by reducing failing grades and building strong support systems for\n\nschools and teachers. She is widely recognized for her ability to develop talent\, align resources\n\nwith student needs\, and create sustainable improvements that last.\n\nDr. Polk's leadership journey began long before OKCPS. In Lawton Public Schools\, she served\n\nas Assistant Superintendent for Pre-K through 12th Grade\, where her strategic planning and\n\nfocus on closing achievement gaps earned national recognition\, including the prestigious\n\nNational Title I Distinguished School award. Her work has consistently centered on equity\,\n\n\n\noperational alignment\, and continuous improvement ensuring progress for every student\, no\n\nmatter their background.\n\nUnder Dr. Polk's leadership\, school districts have not only achieved academic gains but also\n\nstrengthened financial stability\, setting records in local revenue and earning recognition for fiscal\n\nresponsibility\, innovation\, and efficiency. She is deeply committed to collaboration and\n\ncommunity\, serving on numerous boards and committees that support education\, civic\n\nengagement\, and youth development\, including the Greater Oklahoma City Chamber of\n\nCommerce\, United Way of Central Oklahoma\, Council of Great City Schools\, and the Girl\n\nScouts of Western Oklahoma\, among others.\n\nIn addition to her work as a district leader\, Dr. Polk has shared her expertise as an adjunct\n\nprofessor at the University of Virginia\, Southern Nazarene University\, and Cameron University\n\nhelping to shape the next generation of educators and leaders.\n\nA proud military spouse of 40 years to retired U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Chris Polk\, and mother\n\nto three children\, Dr. Polk is also known as "Diva" to her beloved grandchildren\, Jonathan\,\n\nKathryn\, and Eolus IV.
