Community Engagement Associate

Join the Oklahoma City Thunder Community Engagement team as a part-time associate! In this role, you will play a key part in supporting events and programs that make an impact in the community. It is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work and thrives in an event-driven environment. As a Community Engagement Associate, you will help bring outreach efforts to life while gaining valuable experience with a professional sports organization.

 

In this role you will:

  • Help coordinate Community Engagement events, including player and entertainer appearances  
  • Track all community and outreach events, including inventory of activation supplies, staffing, and scheduling
  • Support home game night community events and initiatives
  • Assist the Community Engagement Outreach Coordinator with event prep, setup, execution, and breakdown
  • Regularly update and organize the master calendar for Community Engagement events
  • Perform other duties as assigned

What you will bring to the role:

  • 1-2 years of experience working in an office environment preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate professionally across all levels of the organization
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Demonstrated respect for confidentiality and experience handling sensitive information with discretion
  • Comfortable working in a team environment, with experience working with children considered a plus

 

Additional details:

This is a part-time, non-exempt position reporting to the Community Engagement Outreach Coordinator. Primary work location is the Thunder corporate office located in downtown Oklahoma City. The schedule will include up to 29 hours per week with occasional evening or weekend duties. Must have a valid driver’s license and transportation as local travel may be required. Physical requirements will include lifting and bending. Working environment will include both office and outside events that may include loud noise or music, flashing lights and inclement weather.
