Community Engagement Programs Coordinator

Join the Oklahoma City Thunder as a Community Engagement Programs Coordinator and play a vital role in delivering impactful school-based programs focused on literacy, STEM, and innovation. You will help grow initiatives that support and promote education across the state and region while collaborating across departments to drive engagement and program success!

 

In this role you will:

  • Implement programs on reading, literacy, STEM, and innovation subjects such as coding and AI
  • Develop and maintain program outlines and procedures, manage databases, and analyze data to track program effectiveness
  • Collaborate with multiple departments to lead content strategy and ensure timely creation of messaging, collateral, website, and social media materials
  • Identify gaps and opportunities to innovate and enhance program objectives, including grassroots outreach across the state and region to boost teacher and student engagement
  • Serve as the main contact for program registrants, providing support, troubleshooting, and resolving issues
  • Support broader Community Engagement department events, programs, and initiatives as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned

What you will bring to the role:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • 1-3 years of experience in philanthropic or corporate social responsibility programs
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and comfortable using technology
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to plan, coordinate, and manage initiatives
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, confident interacting with all organizational levels
  • Demonstrated good judgment and ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Capable of managing multiple projects effectively in a fast-paced, demanding environment

 

Additional details:

This is a full-time, non-exempt position reporting to the Community Engagement Programs Manager. Schedule will include office hours, Monday through Friday 8:30-5:30 p.m., with occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed, sometimes on short notice. Primary work location is the Thunder corporate office located in downtown Oklahoma City. Must have valid driver’s license and transportation as some travel may be required. Physical requirements include lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods of time.
